Ok so i have noticed something strange the NFCU cashRewards i was gonna use to replace my CapitalOne Quicksilver for the 1.5% cashback but reading deeper into the NFCU CB program i saw that 1.5% is only for anything after 10K spending for the year so everything else below 10K is 1% so does this card really hold its weight being that it is a spending requirement before it gets 1.5% CB?
Depends on what you're after.
CU cards offer a variety of benefits that rewards cards don't have. One example is generous limits.

I say it has good perks if you do alot of online shopping. You can earn over 8% cashback through member mall depending on what you're shopping for. I've only had my CashRewards a couple weeks, spent about $300 & earned $18+ in rewards already.
Regardless if I don't meet over the $10,000 spend in a year for the 1.5% cashback. Spending $10,000 will earn me at least $100 in a year. Plus the extra % through member mall. Can't beat that!
+1
I don't know, for me I'd rather give usage to a CC that started me with a generous limit than a CC that I've had to jump through hoops with over the past 2.5 years to get a mediocre CL. I still use my QSOne, but not for singular large purchases.
