NFCU input needed please

My Step Son is in the Marines.  He is not a member of NFCU and is over in Afghanistan right now. I don’t know his SS#  just his DOB and unit info etc, email, address and his rank. He’s been in since 18yrs old and has done 18yrs, can retire in 2 but wont lol! Anything else I would need to know?

 

I would love to get in the door with NFCU after everything great I have heard. Am I better off for say the next 6mo just becoming a member and let some other things fall off my CR before trying for a CC? And which Card?

 

Here’s my back ground, looking for input:

I would wait and let that stuff fall off.  Your scores are bound to jump up putting you at a better chance for a higher CL and lower the risk of a denial.

I was wondering the same thing and also let my new cards get some age on them, I am wondering since I am AU on sams club and its not my oldest line would it help or hurt me to take me off it as AU until DH and I get it paid down?

What is the MIN score you would recommend before trying? Do I have to have a certan score to be a member or just to Ap?
