Every few days under My Offers, I'll have a banner saying I'm pre-selected for this card...I DO plan on applying, but only after the rest of my payments post this month, and I see if I can get rid of a bogus CO (it will fall off later this year anyway). Navy hard-pulled my TU when I applied (didn't know they did that), My TU score was 662 then.
Is this a sure approval, and what kind of CL can I expect? I deposited $1,000 into the savings account the day I opened it (about 2 weeks ago)
My TU as of yesterday: 671
AAoA: 7 years
Oldest account: 10.5 years
60day late: 1 (5.5 years ago)
30day late: 2 (4 years ago)
Util 21%
CO: 1 - shows as a 'recent collection' however TU reports it to be removed 6/2011.
The Util will get better as more statements post (should be around 9%)
On another note, the Amex site is showing the Green and Zync for me now, it showed nothing 2 weeks ago...I want to get a Zync and hopefully a TrueEarnings or Blue Cash this year...

I personally would wait until collection is removed, however, with that fico score, you shouldn't have a problem getting approved for the card. You mentioned they pulled TU. I thought they only pulled EQ. They have always pulled EQ for me.

I'm in VA and they Hard'ed my TU on the date of my application.

Oh okay, I'm in CA.

I received a "pre-selected" invitation in the mail awhile back for the nRewards. I already had a $20,000 NFCU Platinum Visa and an auto loan with them, so I decided to add nRewards on, as well. Instantly approved at $17,500.
However, I had no negatives on my report ever, and a FICO of 740 or so.
They pulled EQ for both credit cards and TU for the auto loan, but nothing was pulled for membership.

I got an invitation in the mail and applied back in November. I was declined, but they pulled EQ and that score is pretty low.

Hmm. Ok. My TU is cleaner, but my EQ has always been the stronger score. Would be nice to get somewhere in the 10-15k range. By mid month, my reporting util should be down below 10%.
