Thanks everyone on the forum!
I apped NFCU for the platinum (no rewards) visa, and was approved after two days for a CL of $10,000. My only previous card (see history in my previous post) was a $700 limit Bank Atlantic (Barclays) card. I know that my score is going to take a hit because my AAoA is going to go down; however, I feel that this was the best move considering my circumstances.
My reason for wanting a new card with higher credit limit is that I am overseas and could not purchase airline tickets in an emergency. I requested a CLI from Barclays, however they denied the request due to the type of card.
Once again, thanks for all of the good information!
What were your scores when you applied, and which bureaus did they pull?

Unfortunately I do not have my FICO scores. I pulled my free annual reports, prior to apping to asses the likelihood of being accepted.
I'll post as to which bureaus were pulled later on when I know.
Congrats on the new card and CL! Nice initial after $700.

Navy Fed pulls EQ.

I agree! I was expecting a CL much lower, however I'll take it just the same! I'll let this account mature for a couple of years, and then reasses my needs then.

Congrats on a solid credit line from NFCU. Treat them well and they will take good care of you.
What is the process for applying for a NFCU credit card? Do you have to become a member first and then apply for the credit card?

I was a member before apping, so I really can't say for sure; however, I suspect that only members are able to apply.
