Brother-in-law is retired Navy.  Does he need to be a member of the NFCU in order for us to join?  Tnx.

Re: NFCU

If I'm in, can I get someone else in, or is it strictly on their military standing?

Most of my immediate family was Marine.

Re: NFCU

Do they actually verify that you were once in the service?  If you are non-military now, how do they verify that you were once mnay years ago in the service?

Re: NFCU

I'd say that you go by your SSN now, or your service number if you were in earlier.

I'm a 53-year-old Army brat, and without any prompting at all, I can still recite my dad's SSN. In fact, I can come up with it more easily than I can my own, my husband's, or any of my my three kids' SSN's.
