Re: Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU) and Discover

It was the nRewards. My scores were in the low 600s because of my credit utilization, but that is around 50 percent now (unreported, but 70 percent at time of app). I had a lot of recent Equifax pulls because of utilities from my new apartment. I have a good income, $70k and I have had an account with Navy Federal for 10 years. I have never used their checking - I use USAA for everything. It was not an instant approval, it was manual, and it came with 17% rate so I won't use the card for a balance. I'm going to keep it for major cash purchases and to keep my credit utilization low.
