Navy Federal Credit Union?

Hey Guys,

I'm looking to app next month.  I'm thinking of a credit union, though and as it turns out, I'm eligible to join Navy Federal through my dad.  Is this worth the app? I hear good things about them.  I also know they're a very secure union.

My credit should be app ready in November as I just significantly paid off accounts.  What kind of scores would I be needing for an approval?

Any feedback is appreciated, thanks!

Re: Navy Federal Credit Union?

Do you bend over to pick up $100 bills on the street? Of course you should go for NFCU. Good luck.

Re: Navy Federal Credit Union?

There are tons of stories related here of approvals at 650 and lower. With good credit and a decent income you can get stellar CL's from NFCU. Their service is also top notch. You will not regret joining/app'ing credit there.

Re: Navy Federal Credit Union?

Just a quick reply about Navy Federal. I had a chat with them yesterday regarding application for a cc. I stated I wanted to do a transfer from Juniper/Barclay as they were going to a variable rate and my new rate would be approximately 14.9% vs 8.99%. I was informed that Navy federal is also moving to a variable rate because of the new CC act effective Feb 2009. I also asked who they pull from and she said Equifax and also informed me it was a 'soft pull'  (THought you might be interested)

I doubt any lender will not be on a variable rate come FEB (unless their interest rate is alreadys sky high).

Definately not a soft pull. They will do hard pull for all cc applications including cli or interest reduction.
