Need Advice on Approval Odds/App Spree

Hey Everyone!

I am a Brand New Poster, Long time reader. I need some advice from the experts on my approval odds here.

My Background Info:

I am a 20 year old full time college student AND full time (plus some) employee, I live in Texas.

I am desperately looking for a balance transfer card (need to transfer 2k), I also may need to buy textbooks/laptop/apartment furnishings for the upcoming semester. These are my potential apps:

Chase Freedom

Capitol One Quicksilver (or similar)

Amazon Store Card (not interested in the Visa)

Barclaycard Apple Financing (maybe)

Target Redcard

Marriott Premier (or similar, literally just for spring break 2015 trip, and events)

My income is sort of shady sounding. I have a full time job making about 24K per year (pre-tax) I also take into account my student loans as income 7.5K per year (pre loan fee) and my two part time jobs (one is strictly seasonal) which both can make up about 8-10k per year (pre-tax) in additional revenue, I also receive parental support when necessary. So on credit applications I enter 42,000 as yearly income or 3500 per month

SCORES (reports freshly pulled on 6/15):

696 - Equifax

718 - Transunion

687 - Experian

698 - FICO (via discover website)

CREDIT HISTORY:

2 years of history

AAoA - 1.7 years

ZERO derogatory marks/delinquencies

ALL on time/as agreed payments

Overall Util - 16%-ish

MY WALLET:

10 open accounts (6 installment (student loans deferred), 4 revolving))

discover card - 2k - maxed out

carecredit - 10k - small balance ($303)

Victorias Secret Angel Card - $940 - $0 balance

Express Next A-List - $950 - $0 balance

6 student loans

INQUIRES:

Equifax - 2

Transunion - 0

Experian - 2

I heard Chase can be a stickler, and I don't want to waste a HP if approval odds aren't promising. If it helps I have 2 checking accounts (first opened in 2011/2012-ish) with Chase and I am considering opening up a savings account if it helps me get approved for the freedom.

I will be applying within the next week, so i can keep everyone posted on app success

Any advice helps! Thanks in advance!

MY WALLET: Discover - $2500 | Victoria's Secret Angel Forever - $6000 | Express Next A-List - $3400 | CareCredit - $12000 | Chase Freedom - $3500 | Chase Freedom Unlimited - $1500 | Amazon Store Card - $5000 | Target RedCard MasterCard - $3500 | Paypal Credit (BML) - $3500 | Barclaycard Arrival + World Elite - $6500 | American Express Everyday - $10000 | American Express Premier Rewards Gold - NPSL | Citi Diamond Preferred - $3530

Re: Need Advice on Approval Odds/App Spree

I think you can get approved based on your scores, clean record and income it's just a matter of CL since you're wanting to BT on at least 1 of your new cards. AFAIK  Chase Sapphire and Preferred start with limits >5,000. Seems that Amex Everyday or Blue Cash would be good cards too, they gave me the highest starting limit of all cards of 6,000 when at that time my highest was the Freedom@4,000.

This was my experience with similar income, scores, AAoA, and Util ~20%  I also had  an unpaid(100.) med collect. on mine at the time

So,,U looking a lot better than I did. Hope this helps.

I know the experts will weigh in to let us know their thoughts 2

Good Luck with your choices Smiley Very Happy

Generally, if funds received have to be paid back it cannot be counted as income. If they were scholarships then you could use the money as income. The one Bankcard you have is maxed out and that is hurting your score. Have you asked for a CLI from Discover?
The list if cc's provided are not good BT cards. I assume these cards were for additional purchases ie textbooks, furnishings. Assuming you get these cards, you are adding more debt without increasing your income.
Before I would offer advice on potential credit cards, I would ask how are you planning to pay down the additional balances? Can you ask your parents for help with your Discover card?
