Re: Need a Balance Transfer Card

almost higher than what??

And not to be rude but I get sad always seeing Chase Slate. Chase Slate, Chase Slate, Chase Slate.......

Lol. Their initial CLs are WAY TOO LOW for most people to do BTs unless they are already established w/ chase.  Not to mention, Bank of America Bank of Americard Mastercard can be had for 0% APR for 21 months which is nice. Granted, you would pay 3% transaction fees on the BOA... BUT $90 is pocket change if your APR is high, and you need a decent CL for a BT.

I am just saying here, if you really wanna do a BT to save some bucks...and to me, only bigger ones are worth the hassle....go big or go home.

This 21 month thing came up on BOAs site after seeing what a family member was preapproved for. Scores 740-780. Instant approval of $9,000 and this person already had high util in 60% range.

Re: Need a Balance Transfer Card

I agree that Chase loves handing out low 2500 Slates if you are new to them, but from what I can glean, BofA computers hand out low 2500 limits to newbies too...and that's when the computer isn't randomly denying people; citing reasons that aren't applicable to the person(as they did in my case and a few others I've read about). So to me, it's the same difference.

Re: Need a Balance Transfer Card

I can't agree. I'm not a Chase customer, and my highest CL's showing on my EX were a 2K secured Wells Fargo Visa and a 1K secured US Bank Visa. Applied for Slate last Saturday and got my highest CL, 5500. Cap One gave me a 5K QS, but it hasn't reported yet. So Chase did me well. All the other cards I appd for gave me low CL's, including Amex, BCP 1K, Delta PLAT 1400. So I've got nothing but raves for Chase. I was declined by BOA, CITI, and DISC too.

Re: Need a Balance Transfer Card

lol well ya. theres always that. it is really all a matter of chance, but to each their own i guess. i think a 9k CL vs a pewny $1k one is better any day. This person had no prior banking with BOA either, yet had previous accounts with Chase, that were always PIF!
