Need help raising score!

I'm a 24 yr old male. Trying to rebuild my score that I destroyed quite a bit through college. I recently 4 months ago got a car loan and got a new car which raised my score from 555 to 599 thus far. I get declined for every credit card company I have applied to so I have no credit card. I was thinking of opening a secure line this week as well. Could really use all the guidance I can get. Thank you
