Re: New CCs

Despite their (well-deserved) nickname of Crap1, Capital One's Quicksilver card is among the best in cash back rewards. Did you receive the one without the annual fee? If so, a $10K limit with that card is golden! You couple that with Chase Freedom's rotating categories, and you're in business.

As far as AMEX BCE, their revolvers are pretty tough to get. Do you know your EX score? What's your uti%? Amex seems to care about those two things. If you feel confident, go for it, but you will almost certainly be approved for one of their charge cards, which will help you get the BCE after 6 months of on-time payments.

I did it over the phone, so I hope I got the one w/o the annual fee. That's the one I asked for. That's the big requirement for any CC I hold. I don't want to spend money to spend money.

Does Chace Feedom have better categories than Discover?

Re: New CCs

The categories rotate. Freedom is a Visa and more wildly accepted than Discover. If you are contemplating the CSP then go with Freedom. They work well together.

Re: New CCs

What can I get with Chase Points?

Don't take this the wrong way, it's only my lack of experience with rewards cards... Points reminds me of skeeball (with the tickets) that you turn in for prizes... Can I redeem the points for anything good? Cash?

Thanks,

JD12

Re: New CCs

The first question on the application is:

Is your credit history clear from bankruptcies and/or seriously delinquent accounts?

I still have 2 baddies from 07+08 where I have 120 days late.

Should I not apply to this?

Is there anything on here I shouldn't apply for?

BankAmericard Travel Rewards

Citi Dividend Platinum Select

Chase Freedom
VentureOne Capital Rewards
Discover Miles
Chase Sapphire
Citi Thank You Preferred Card
Citi Diamond Preferred

You got approved for $10k out of Capital One... Pick anything you want and you will probably get approved but to help....

Go to citicards.com and down at bottom you will find the link for "check if I'm Pre-Qualified" - Fill that in and read carefully when it comes back up... it will say your name... followed by "we didn't find any cards but take a look at these" DONT DO IT... or your name... " we found or congrats or I don't know the exact wording... but you will know... those are good to go options... I would say you are approved for any of those if they say they are your matches.

same over at Chase.com... you can run through the pre-qual and if it comes back with offers... pick your fav. and go!

If you take a citi and a chase and add that to capital one.. you should be sitting pretty for rewards for a bit! id do that today too!
