New CSP reporting question

I was approved for the CSP recently and i have already charged around $2400 on it.

Chase told me that my first statemnet closing date is 8/15. Does that mean that they wont report until that date for the first time?

Im trying to avoid having the card report a balance and was wondering if they will do an initial reporting to the CB's before my first statemnt cut and if they do will it report my balance on that date?

Re: New CSP reporting question

I am also wondering this same thing since I just got my CSP.  Where did you see when the statement will cut? Mine says no info.

Re: New CSP reporting question

If that's the closing date they have you, yes. That's when your cycle closes and the new one commences. Whatever balance is left on the 15th will be reported to the Bureau.

Re: New CSP reporting question

I had to call Chase to get the statement cut date. It seems to be around one month prior to what they show as your payment due date.

I know that they will obvioulsy report whatever balance I have on 8/15 but many issuers report prior to your first closing date.

Chase doesn't usually report except when they cut a statement.

Re: New CSP reporting question

So after calling Chase to find out my first statemnt closing date they told me it would be 8/15. So it turns out they cut a statement for my CSP on 7/15 and it reported a balance of $2843/$7000.

Really annoyed that the CSR's didnt know what they were talking about at Chase.

Re: New CSP reporting question

You can request through secure message to have a mid-cycle update if you're in need of a lowered balance to report for some reason. Note that TransUnion takes much longer to update than the other two. ymmv

Re: New CSP reporting question

2483/7000 isn't the end of the world.  Its not maxed out or anything.  Pay it before the due date and you are fine.  My first statement was close to that util (34%).  Second statement was at 22%.  Both paid in full.  I just let it report with whatever I use for the month.  I haven't really had any applications planned or anything so it doesn't matter.  Although, I did receive a 3x CLI from Amex last week, so they certainly weren't bothered by it.
