maximum 2 right?

No

What other cards beside Amex would you like?

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Pick one app and then we'll take it from there

Question what other cards do you have?

Looking at your list of wants I think you have a thin file is this correct?

What limit did Discover give you?

Maybe some info on what you have now and what your credit profile looks like would help everyone. Congrats on the Discover! Good luck with whatever you decide to do! (sorry if I missed info on what your credit situation is like now) edit: myjourney beat me to it Smiley Happy

Ok you have time stop now don't apply for Amex yet ..

Step 1 call Discover and get limit

Step 2 need to know what cards you have now, how long you've had them and the limits

Step 3 update thread and we can go from there

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Re: New Card Applications. Best to do it once in a while or multiple cards at once

It sounds as if you believe that the Inq threshold is very low (more than 2 is bad).  Many people successfully apply with many more inqs, easier with a thicker file.   While CRs, Credit Karma will indicate a lot of inquiries as a negative feature, it is often not that critical, if the rest of the report is fine.  And, past a certain point, additional inquiries seem to have no more impact...
