Not entirely correct.

U.S. Bank issues co-branded (such as REI and OfficeMax) to such states, however, bank-branded cards will only be approved if you are pre-slected for one out of the traditional bank footprint.

Thanks, that's Good to know. It was a while ago and I'm not even sure what card was applied for.

I just joined USAA, waiting to see if they offer anything cool.
