New Perk for AMEX Platinum

You will now get Hilton Honors Gold status with AMEX Platinum card, just like SPG Gold.

I just called and got my Honors account registered.

It is only temporary though....this only lasts till the end of 2014...what to do now, close my Citi Hilton that gives gold status as long as I have the card BUT has an annual fee?? And hope that Platinum makes gold status permanent??

Is it? Smoeone posted on FlyerTalk that it's going to be a permanent perk, just like SPG gold.
