Haven't stayed at Mirage before. Doing Wynn for the first time in May along with Bellagio for a 6 day trip. We love MB. Just stayed there again November and had great time as usual. We hooked up (socially) with one of the bartenders from Border Grill and up having lots of fun and drinks at house of blues. She was a lot of fun and we will no doubt spend some time there in May even though we aren't staying there.
While MGM doesn't have it's own credit card, there are some benefits that you can get out of a different one.
MGM has a partnership with Hyatt, meaning that you can get Gold Passport points for every stay at MGM properties.
Also, they do status matching, so you can go this route. Get the Chase Hyatt card which gives you Platinum status in the Gold Passport program. You can then status match GP Platinum into Mlife Gold, which is their third one up (Sapphire, Pearl, Gold). Has some nice benefits like room upgrades, expedited check in, buffet passes, etc. The annual free night that you get with the Hyatt card can also be used at an Mlife property if you so desire.

Yeah it's hard to keep it up without going to Vegas. Only good news for me is that they're building an MGM casino in the DC area scheduled to open in 2016. I can foresee a membership in gamblers anonymous
