Weird thing happend. I logged into TrueCredit and my old Barclay account was removed and a new one added. All info the same but the account numbers were different. My DH has two of his own Barclay cards and is an AU on mine. He had all three removed and three new accounts. Opening dated and limits remained the same. Anyone else notice something different with Barclays??
ETA: USAA site has the "new" barclay accounts as well. Haven't checked EQ because I'm not paying for a new report. Only one I received an alert on is TC.
I wouldn't worry about it, now you have two accounts that are 4 years old instead of just one. It is strange though, that I will admit! I was expecting this to happen when I upgraded my Walmart store card to a Walmart Discover, but I got nailed for a new account.
No I still have only the one account. The "old" account was removed and now the "new" account is there. I've had card change numbers before and usually the update is just the new account number or, both the old account and new account both report (lost or stolen cards). But nope. Totally removed the old account. I called them and asked and they said they changed the way they are reporting the accounts. They are now reporting "internal" account numbers instead of the account account numbers for security reasons.
While I was on the phone, I went ahead and asked for a CLI. Approved! Went from $4200 to $7500. Oh yeah. Love the backdoor numbers. Only had two inquireis on TU so not to worried about the hard pull. Happy Friday!
ETA: To excited and typed to fast and can't type properly. lol
Friday? It is my Monday
Still I would not be too bothered, your account age is still reported the same, along with all other information. How and what is done on credit reports does not bother me if it does not affect me. I am not sure how different companies monitor the little extras about customers, but I would put a star in the system next to your name. You monitor your credit, noticed this and called a CSR. Personally, if I was a lender that would put you at lower risk in my eyes
It' my Friday and been pretty good so far!
I wasn't to concerned about the change because it didn't really CHANGE anything. Just weird that they removed the one account and reported a new one instead of just updating the account numbers. Just weird. But that's why I like TC. Is shows you a side by side comparison of what's changed. I wish the other services would do that. Instead of having to compare two different reports for changes. If not for TC, I probably wouldn't have even noticed the "new" account.
And thank you. I like stars. Especially gold ones!
OK, I got a mid-cycle Barclays update, that probably was an account number change. The balance was before my payment was applied, so the balance is higher than it should have been for month end.

Same here. I had just paid it off. But it ended up updating with a $267 balance.
