@azguy13
Thanks!
I'm trying to be as responsible as I can with my credit. Started working on building it as soon as I turned 18 lol. Been paying off pretty well so far. Have a decent score, seems the only main thing holding me back now is the short history.
I still don't understand why wait so long to get Amex... I don't think I have heard of someone getting so high on Discover and getting declined Amex!!
and since when did we think about paying student loans off before applying for credit cards... what kind of student loan debt are we talking about that you can just pay it off in a few months.

I have under 5k in student loans and really no other bills atm besides my CC's so I can stick most of my checks into paying them off.
You don't think I should wait till my discover is reporting the higher CL though? Right now its still reporting that I have a 1.7k limit with them. My billing cycle is almost up with them, was hoping at the start of the new one they'd update it. Or should it not matter?
Thanks
I don't think it will matter at all... Amex is pulling the EX and it's high and you have 1 INQ... should fly right through the app of the computer system for amex.
Well I went ahead and applied and got the following message:
"Thank you for applying for the Blue Cash PreferredSM from American
Express. Your application has been received and will be processed as soon as
possible and we will notify you of the decision by mail within 14 days.
Thank you for applying."
Should I be worried? Does this mean I still might be approved?
Disregard last message, checked the status of my application on their site and that says that I've been approved, just dont know what CL I'll be getting lol.
EDIT:
Decided to call them to see if I can find out the CL I'll be getting. When checking the status of it by calling they told me my CL will be $5700
