No Brainer to PC from More to IT?

I just wanted to make sure here before I did it, but it seems like a no brainer to PC from More to IT. Account number, etc. stays the same (so no change on the credit reports), you keep the 5% categories w/ $1500 limits, and you get 1% back on every purchase, rather than getting 0.25% on the first $3000 in purchases. Is there something I am missing or is it really a no brainer to switch?

Re: No Brainer to PC from More to IT?

Its a no brainer... I made the switch due to the 1% cash back being automatic. No spend threshold to meet.
FICO 9:
Filed Chapter 13 on 6/1/2017 after job loss. Discharged 6/1/2022.

Goal: Gardening!

Stupid question from a lazy person...

How do you do the PC and are there any qualifiers for it?

I've only had my More card since November.

Walmart Discover ($5000) - Amazon ($5500) - Cap1 Cash Rewards ($2000) - Meijer ($5000) - Discover More ($1800) - Car Care One ($2100) - Amex Delta Skymiles ($2000) - Citi Thank You Preferred ($2000) - Chase Freedom ($500) - Sam's Club, GE ($1237?)

You just call and ask for the PC. And there is no time requirement for the PC since there is no AF and APRs, etc. aren't changing (since the account stays the same).

I just called and had the PC done in less than 5 minutes! I'm always amazed at how good the Discover CSRs are. And on top of that, I got my $50 check from my price protection claim as well (it's a relatively new benefit)! Discover is making a loyal customer!

Re: No Brainer to PC from More to IT?

Ok, that was stupid easy.

I just called in, spoke to a rep in Ohio for about 30 seconds. Got transferred to Arizona and 3 minutes later I was off the phone with confirmation that my new IT card would be sent via FedEx on the first day of my next billing cycle.

Suhweet!

Thx Smiley Happy

PC is extremely easy but going back is impossible. I'd be cautious.
