Shot down. Got the "you will recieve a letter in 7-10 days explaining why" from the rep. Got the letter today.
We were unable to accomodate an increase for the following reasons:
BUREAU REPORTS HIGH BALANCE HISTORY ON BANKCARDS
BUREAU REPORTS TOO MANY BANKCARD ACCOUNTS WITH HIGH BALANCE
BUREAU-REPORTED RATIO OF BALANCES TO CREDIT LINES ON BANKCARDS
Did BT's so some of the cards are on the high side. I will get those down over the next year.
But there is nothing I can do about "HIGH BALANCE HISTORY". Their number one item.
They reported a TU FICO of 754. Does Disocver use TU04 or TU08? Anyone know? Because that is about the number I got form Walmart for my TU08.

I didn't even know that the high balance number could affect getting credit! And to answer your question, there is no way to get it down, because it is reported as your highest balance. Maybe that number falls off after a year or two? Anyone know ifthat happens?

Discover is a strange beast. I would not "expect" a CLI at 6 months. It took me about a year to get my CL up to a "decent" limit. Today, it sits at $5k.
