Well my friends, it appears the days when you could get a CLI with a freeze on your reports are over ![]()
I know that it was difficult in the past, but now it seems impossible.
Tried 6 months past the last request with Barclay's, CITI, Discover, BOA and Chase.......No go. All request an Un Freeze.
Well Barclays isnt a for sure no, it is the 48 hour deal, probably a no,
It isnt all bad I guess, got to request 5 and no HP ![]()

With all due respect, why would you place a Freeze on your Credit Reports???
Where you a victim of Credit Card Fraud???
Placing a Freeze on your credit report is not 100% guarantee that your reports would not be compromised.

It is common practice for deployed personel to freeze their reports.
So it is a value if you can get periodic CLI's without having to unfreeze them.

Your current creditor can still HP you with a freeze in place.
The sole purpose of a freeze was for prevention of credit being obtained in your name in the event of identity theft.

Not totally accurate.
All my reports are frozen. I did a CLI request to Chase, BOA, Barclays and even while doing my refi with NFCU. All of them came back and told me that I should unfreeze my reports.
But, I still get my FICO's from PSECU, DCU and Walmart monthly. So they are doing SP's fine.

All I said was it was a side benefit of having your reports frozen.
It is a pain to freeze and unfreeze them, just for a CLI
If a creditor will give you a CLI without unfreezing them, so much the better.

just because YOU did it doesnt mean it doesnt happen. this falls under the same category as your current creditor can hp you at any given time without consent.

Which brings me to my original point 'Not totally accurate' which assumes a 'possibilty'
