Nordies upgrades--FYI

after being on hold with Nordstrom credit for almost 30 minutes, I was informed that Visa upgrades are now being postponed to September at minimum!! What?! Not sure why this continues to be postponed; come September I wouldn't be surprised if it got pushed out again! I am half tempted to just app for the Visa and not wait for the conversion that may never come!

yep..They are upgrading their systems for whatever reasons, and also no one can request a CLI either on their acts till then as well. Was told that today.

Oh wow thanks for the heads up on the CLIs! I had no idea. I guess I got my 7 month CLI just in time a few weeks ago.

Are all storecards being upgraded? Ive seen alot of these visa upgrade posts from many retail cards.

I know there's been a lot of chatter on the boards recently about Target MC upgrades (which, like Nordstrom, is TD Bank). I was just informed by Target today my Target card will be upgraded to the MC. However for that upgrade, it's my understanding that will be reported as a new account. What was so appealing to me about the Nordstrom upgrade (which is by customer request, not automatic) is that it's not reported as a new account. They use the same history as your current department store account, if you qualify for the upgrade that is.

I know that some synchrony accounts can eventually be upgraded to MC's, by invite only, but again these report as new accounts if the customer accepts the upgrade.

There has been no offical word of this, only that the CSR/credit reps are saying that as of right now, noone can request a CLI on their acct, or request an upgrade to the Visa till some time in Septmeber, as they are "revamping" their system.

I think after 6 months I'll go in the store and has to be upgraded and see what they say. TD bank is why. Thanks for letting us know.

Went online today to pay my DW bill... They gave her a 3k auto CLI this month sometime

!, I was going to tell her to ask for an upgrade till I had seen this

!

Trust me I was completely bummed, too, when I heard the news last night! But so nice for her that she got that CLI!

Yeah, definitely save your DW the thousand hours on hold with Nordie's credit and wait a few months I'm hoping that the September projection is just TD Bank being conservative; I'm going to bug them again in August and see what they say!
