Nordstrom Credit Card - Soft? Hard?

Hi all,

Thinking about using the Nordstrom credit card bonus today to purchase a rather expensive coat for a reduced cost when opening the account.

One question:

Is this a hard pull, or a soft pull?

Thanks!!

Opening a new card at Nordstrom will be a hard pull.

(Also, I thought they sent you the coupon later; when I worked at Nordstrom, there was no immediate discount for opening the card)

Quicksilver $10,000 | Better Balance Rewards $2000 | Sallie Mae $3500 | Freedom $3500

Opening a Nordstrom is a HP. CLIs are soft up to a certain point, which I believe is 6K. At least that is what I was told by the rep.
