In an effort to improve my credit I got a lot of cards, department cards as well as big bank. I thought I was doing a good job managing the cards untill I logged on and saw that Office Depot closed my account. When I called, they told me it was due to inactivity. I understand ..and know that I have use my cards a couple of times a month or 3 months. I am just scared what if my other card were to drop me because they saw Office Depot close my acount? I know that the credit cards companies don't have to let you know that they are closing your account..which sucks!
You will be fine.. You are over thinking it. Consider it one less card to manage.
I wouldn't worry about it. If it was closed for inactivity. Did you really need it?
The only time "Closed by grantor" really means anything is on manual review.
+1 with these guys ^^
Don't sweat it!

Agree. And, even under manual review, unless the rest of CR profile gets some scrutiny, it's like it's not even there at all.
OP - to avoid any inactivity situations with lenders closing cards, use them! At least place some periodic charges to keep them active once every 3 months or so.
If you have plenty of others, just listen to Elsa and let it go.

Don't worry about it...and if you are...throw a recurring payment on your accounts. I have dollar shave club on my Slate because I simply have no other use for the card (Except the new FICO scores which I argued with chase for a month to get working)

Am I the only one having trouble understanding this post? Did you use or not use your card? A couple of purchases per month are considered inactive? Did they close it with or without your knowing?
Have you called them to try to reopen the card?
Probably means nothing. I never used my gas card & they finally closed it. Doesn't reflect negative on your credit report. And no other cc company closed any other accouts. You're good.
