Oh noes, not another Amex question.

I got Amex Green in Oct '12. I realized that should consolidate my spending and I should have gotten the PRG instead.

My question is: Should I wait for the upgrade when 13 months rolling around and would I get the sign-up bonus?

or

Apply now and get backdated making the PRG older than my Green Smiley Surprised, my BCE is older than the Green LOL.

Re: Oh noes, not another Amex question.

You will not get any sign up bonus or waived af for a PC.

It would be better to app for it IMO.

Re: Oh noes, not another Amex question.

You would have to close your current card and wait 90 days to app for the prg....

I app'd for the Green, instant approval. A month later I app'd and was approved for PRG with the 1st year annual fee waived and sign up bonus. I'm planning to cancel both once the annual fee comes due in a year.

Why wait 90 days?

Can I just app for prg and close green?

Oh okay, but I have the Green since Oct '12.

Anyway, I think I will wait to see what I get from 3x CLI with BCE.

Re: Oh noes, not another Amex question.

I think I may be wrong. Just checked and I think it means if you have had another charge card within the last 90 says then u aren't eligible to get the signup bonus.

"† If you are identified as a current American Express® Cardmember, you may not be eligible for this welcome bonus offer. This offer is also not available to applicants who have had this product within the last 12 months or any other Consumer ZYNC®, Green or Gold Card or Platinum Card® account within the last 90 days. "
