I suggest to finance some of the new car for a short term (1 year?). You should be able to get a low rate and it will be improve your credit history.
You might also consider getting a Line of Credit on your home. You can use this for household items like repairs, improvement, furniture, applicances etc. If you pay in full, it will not cost you any interest, but you are developing more credit history.
And use your credit cards for your normal expenses and develop a history with them.
