I would try for the HSBC BB card. You may not get a high limit right off the bat but 4-6 mo's you can CLI.

I see you are trying to be good... BUT 
I just got a Barclays Amex with 4 inq's 1 was 1 month old and a total of 3 within 12 months. (2 auto loan inq's, and 1 cap one inq-extra long stroy). Barclays added my 5th and approved me for a $2500 credit line (I was not instantly approved, I got the wait 10 day message and was approved on the 10th day- no recon needed).
