Regarding the Delta SkyMiles, those SkyMiles transfer at statement print out to your Delta SkyMiles account, every month, which is outside the domain of AMEX. So the SkyMiles already transferred out to Delta, they are unaffected by this move, will still be Delta SkyMiles when the CC becomes SPG.

Marriott is in the process of buying Starwood Hotels chain, the Marriott and Ritz cards are already through Chase Bank.
With the way AMEX's luck is running lately, it seems only a matter of time after the merger before the SPG is terminated or rolled into the Marriott Nerf. No specific timeframe for either the merger or any subsequent changes to SPG, but the writing is on the wall.
The only situation where this might not happen is if Marriott grants AMEX the rights to continue an SPG card, but that seems quite unlikely since one of the reasons Marriott is buying Starwood is to include their hotels in as another Marriott chain. Marriott wants cost savings, and that means eliminating duplication, and rich rewards programs like Starwood has.
