I rarely ever use my Freedom card and probably definitely would benefit from having the Amazon Prime card instead. I've never done a PC and don't even know the process.
If it's possible to PC in this case...
Is there another inquiry made by Chase?
Does my AAoA change because it's a new card?
Could I be denied or because they've deemed me qualified to be a cardholder, it'll be seamless?
I have very few inquiries (as I know the're inquiry sensitive) and my scores are around 715 across the board. Notably, I also have a Amex BCP and Platinum, NFCU Platinum.
Please advise and thank you in advance.
I am almost certain that Chase doesn't allow a product change to a cobranded card (most lenders do not). Freedom can be changed to Freedom Unlimited or Sapphire Preferred (or Slate but that's pretty much useless other than introductory Balance transfer offers). Otherwise with a PC, no new inquiry, no change in reporting, etc...
Those are my options?
Ugh.
I might use CSP more than my Freedom (the rotation categories make me nuts), but I usually use my AMEX Platinum for travel. Though I have read that where my AMEX leaves off, a CSP might pick up. I was just hoping to capitalize on my little shopping thing I have with Amazon. 5% back would be super nice!
i just called Chase and you're right. I can't PC to a co-branded card.
Besides that though, they couldn't transfer me to a Sapphire specialist who would answer my card specific questions. C'mon. I expected better customer service than that!
Thank you for confirming that. The community here can likely give you clearer and correct answers to your Sapphire Preferred questions. What's on your mind?
