PIF Clarification

Hey everyone. I am just starting using a rewards card to pay for every day purchases. I am just wanting to make sure I understand what I should do so no interest gets charged and I show a $0 balance when the credit company reports.

On American Express it says that the next closing date is May 16. Does that mean that is the day that they cut their statements and charge interest and report to the agencies? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Re: PIF Clarification

pay minimum by due date to avoid default and late fee

pay last statement balance to avoid interest

pay WHOLE balance (last statement balance plus any new charge(s)) by statement closing date to report 0 balance
