Why not app for Amex PRG to get your foot in the door. If you feel that you can get the BCE, go for it. Many people on here got revolver off the bat with Amex.
my theory is that with my last app pulling all three beureaus and not reconning (i didn't know you could recon amex ) i was borderline and they wanted to approve me for bce.

I would app charge and if approved then app BCE the AF fee is waived the first year anyway on the charge card. You have a year to cancel if you wish

The benefit is that the charge card is easier to be approved for.
Wouldn't they want to approve someone borderline for one card versus two?
i honestly don't think that I would use the charge card. BCE fills the gap if I run through grociers with Sallie mae :/
edit: what are you apping for in june ?

I see your point but if they don't approve you for BCE then you have to keep applying. With the charge card which is easier to be approved for your foot is in the door and it will always be a SP for BCE until approved thats the plus side of the foot in the door route
Personally unless they were going to quibble over the CO (is it paid?) I'd just app for the revolver I wanted now.
There's plenty of time left in the year to app for a charge card if you're looking for the membership stamp for future backdating, but unless Amex has you as an internal issue, I don't see a problem given that you've already qualified via what's accepted as a more challenging underwriting decision from Chase.

debt is not paid. Navy sold the debt to a collector that is not reporting. They softed me in may of 12 but never reported. its WAY past SOL. I offered to pay Navy but I found out too late. C/O is for 1,000
I've done personal banking with chase and had a fair amount of money with them which helped with the approvals there.
Can you explain to me the underlined portion above? I don't follow excuse my ignorance.
