I'm thinking about apping, but the last GECRB card I was approved for, I was given a lousy initial CL of $1750.![]()
That was NOT worth the new credit seeking score ding and lowering of my AAoA.
I have had an auto CLI on that card, but it's the CL is still <4k.

I got this card two months ago and they started me out with a $2000 CL. I have three other GE accounts. I got credit with Ashley Homestore for about $3700 10 months ago, paid off within 5 months. I got a Belk department store card about 2 years ago, started with $200, called two months ago and asked for $1000 and got it. I also have a Walmart store card about 18 months ago, started with $800, got an auto CLI about 6 months later to $1000, called two months and asked for $2000 and got it. In two more months, I'll call all three and ask for double what I have now.

was approved for 1K feb 10th. called for a cli to 2K early june. called for a cli to 4K this past weekend. probably only put about $100 on it since march.
amazon started at 1.4K, applied same day as the paypal. only got to 2K in september. before that they would counter me with a $100 cli to 1.5K everytime.

I got $2k MC
$800 Walmart
$500 Lowes
$300 TjMaxx
$650 Chevron
declined for Amazon - 6 months later $800
umm im missing some, and then i have a couple joint and many AU GE cards
the system makes little sense to me on initial approvals.
yesterday someone got $600 Discover Walmart, why do I get a store card only with $800 limit!!!?
But really the 3-5 month AUTO CLI and then the newer ability to Mnaual Review CLI are the deal with GE... in past not being able to get away from the computer system like HSBC use to be and Cap1 seems to be!

Initial approval was $1000. Current limit is $6000. I believe I've had the card about a year. Got one auto-CLI after about 3 months (to $2500 IIRC) and then after another four months to $6000. It's probably time for me to ask for another.
