Well the problem is that most bills will only take payment directly from a checking/savings account with an EPN. A few will tkae payment by card, but for the most part you would have to enlist the assistance of a 3rd party bill payment service, which always charge fees. Additionally, many credit card comapnies frown upon this as it may be taken as artifically bolstering rewards... YMMV.

This isn't really accurate. There are lots of bills that you can pay directly with credit cards. Some companies may use a third party to process credit card payments and you have to look at the service fee to see if it cancels out any cash back earned by using the card. I have never heard of any credit card company considering this to be artifically bolstering rewards.

Right, especially as the service is probably less than 3%, not much of a boost anyway.   Now if you are buying gift cards/VR to load cards so you can pay by check, then maybe, but that's not especially likely with the Freedom either.

Re: Paying Bills with Chase Freedom

My bills don't have an additional fee. Though I've encountered it at the DMV to use debit or CC whether online or in building.
