There is no reason to suspect using your UR Points to pay down your balance will cause any AA. But if you are worried about that you can always have them send you a check for the balance of your points and then use that to pay directly from your bank account.
Seems like a really low value for your points but I don't believe your question was based on that.

Yes, and if there just isn't a good opportunity for the more valuable redemptions (as travel is postponed for a while) cashing out might be good enough. With ongoing devaluations, and depending how they would be redeemed, the difference might not be all that great.
Also, people do the equivalent thing with the Freedom all the time (and in the no AF period for the CSP it's not like you are wasting the fee, so it is a little like the Freedom!) And better than redeeming TYP at Amazon for a fraction of their already low value...
It appears the OP's girlfriend is carrying a balance on the CSP (no 0% intro APR), so the points actually are valued at more than 1CPP if you factor in the reduced interest.
