there is no need to pay balances before statement cut EXCEPT when you anticipate applying for credit in the next 30 days or think you may have a CLI from a card coming up soon. If I pay my balance 5 days before due date for 11 months in a row and then on the 12 month I pay it 5 days before statement cuts my score my score the next month will be exactly the same or even slightly higher then if I paid 5 days before the statement cut the entire year.
