So they converted my Smart Connect account I've had for years to the PayPal Extras card like they have for everyone and I was pretty happy about that.... until I checked my Experian today and they closed my PayPal connect account and opened up a whole new tradeline for the Extras MC. Not cool at all....

A lot of us got hit with that, it's common with Sync product upgrades though. The time doesn't change over with it, so it does have some affect on AAOA, hopefully you got a CLI at activation to make the blow softer.

That happened to me when my Walmart card got upgraded to the Discover a couple years back. No increase on activation...

With my Walmart is was marked as "closed/transferred to new account." not sure with PayPal, haven't checked yet.

It's at least a little explanation to anyone looking at your reports.

See my post referencing this same issue. Spoke to both Synchrony and PP, and the bank has converted MC back to SC and they new Tradeline is gone from my profile. It's a basic con game and they know it. There was no indication about a new Tradeline when I got my mailing about the upgrade. I was about to close out every other Syncrony account because of this major inconvenience.
