This looks like a great card.  Penfed is a very conservative lender so be prepared to verify income if you apply.

"1.5% cash back on every purchase"

Too bad it's not 2%.

Re: PedFed Defender AMEX limited time offer for vet's

The 6.99% APR for 60 months is pretty ridiculous though.

Also, in addition to getting unlimited 1.5% cash back, it has all the perks of a good BT card. No late fees, f/x fees, cash advance fees, penalty APR, etc.

Seems like a sweet deal for anyone who qualifies.

Re: PedFed Defender AMEX limited time offer for vet's

If you have your DD214 and an honorable discharge, or you are active duty/reserve/guard, then I HIGHLY suggest looking into this card.

I've had it since the week it came out (I think August sometime)

It's an amazing card.

I already held the 5% gas card before this came out.  I had to provide my LES prior to getting the Visa.

When I applied for the Defender AMEX I received an instant approval, albeit much lower CL than I wanted, so I re-allocated from my Visa.

The best thing about this card, is that it's 1.5% back AUTOMATICALLY.  I dont have to do anything.  And it's applied to your current bill.  Say I spend $1000 this month on this card, next month when I go to pay this bill I only have to pay $985.  No games, gimmicks, waiting on enough points.  That beats waiting months on end for 2% for me.

Also the no FTFs, and all around lack of any types of fees for this card is awesome.

I pair it with my 1.5% BoA Visa Siggy (which is also awesome IMO after trying it out for the last 6 months)

I like simplicity and no games.
