Received an odd credit decision. They are requesting 2 years most recent tax returns for Amex approval. Are you kidding me? Seriously? I feel offended. Anyone else experience this?

I was required to do that for my AMEX CLI... Didn't get anywhere close to what I requested... You should do it, If you want it.

I would not either...........I will just be happy with my 5K cash rewards card and that's all. I only us it for GAS anyways
This is the process Amex uses for certain CLI requests, the 4506-T form discussed frequently on Amex threads.
That Penfed is doing it for an app shouldn't be a huge shock, they are very conservative and so any doubts at all require a lot of verification.
Just weigh up the pros and cons (e.g. privacy concerns) and decide whether you want to do it.
Penfed used to ask for pay stub or income tax for POI. They haven't done it lately. They might ask for POI if you ask a high CL.
Ron.
AMEX asked the same of me but I didn't feel offended in the least. I sent them the info and was approved instantly.
