Platinum card vs Signature

I've read some postings here that talked about signature cards not being the greatest thing as far as building up a credit score, can someone shed some light on this for me? I was going to app for a chase card, and noticed they offer platinum & signature. Also which chase card is considered the lower end card, if there such a card with chase.

Re: Platinum card vs Signature

Hi Gibran,

I just got a signature card (without knowing it =/) and I had to do some research myself. If you read these links, it should give you a good idea of what signature is:

linky 2

Personally, I will use it for the zagat ratings and warranty service.
