Pleasant surprise from Amex

Was looking over my account and noticed a $100 statement credit. Apparently I made the 1k spend within my 92 days. Wasn't expecting that. My philosophy is if it happens it happens, I'm not going to change my spending habits for it.

Re: Pleasant surprise from Amex

That's great. I will change my spending to meet spending requirements by paying AHEAD. Or taking a 1-2% hit on another card to put on the new card. But I normally sign up for cards with $500 spend requirements as I'm one who doesn't spend crazy amounts that often. And don't have enough money coming in to justify spending 3-4K in 3 months. Though if I had medical expenses, I probably would get a higher spend card.

congrats!

my mandatory spending is pretty low, but whenever I get a new card with high SUB spend required I just buy all the stuff I should have been buying for the past few months and was neglecting out of busyness, lazyness, or forgetfulness. It all seems to balance out Smiley Happy

Re: Pleasant surprise from Amex

I do switch the card I use for purchases/bills (if I remember) but that's pretty much all I do.
