Please help me with CareCredit

hey buddies, I'm going to get some cosmetic surgery next month and I have the money for it but want to take advantage of CareCredits promo off of no Apr during the promo period. I rather my money sit in the bank and accrue interest so i'll pay monthy and PAY IT IN FULL in time. 

My question is should I ask for a much HIGHER  limit than what I need to keep my utilization down? My surgery will cost 4500 and my scores are 750-760 across with an income of 56k-60k. I'm planning on putting a 2k down payment, but i'm afraid if I ask for "too much" they will simply deny me rather than counter offer, you know?

In your experience, do they counter offer if you ask for too much or flat out DENY or should i just ask for the actual amount I need and deal with the high utilization?

I know with my credit file I should get instant approval, i'm just afraid of a denial if I ask too much. I'm planning to ask for maybe 7,000-8,000 when I only need 2500 after I put my 2k down. 

I just hate seeing my utilization go past 5% which is what it is right now.

P.S I have only 2 inquiries that are over a year old.

I got a $3k limit with much lower scores than you have.  I think I put in the application that I planed on spending about $5,000.  I was happy getting $3k.  

I think that you would easily get a limit to coverage what you need.  You may want to ask for $10,000 on the application and see how they respond.  I don't believe they deny you just because you asked for too much.

CareCredit is one of those that you can ask for an amount like say $5k and instantly get approved and they even say right below approval please contact us now if you feel you could use more and I have seen just like Lowes and Home Depot people get approved and call in and ask for $25k and either get a counter or get approved!

so go for what you need and then call in and ask for the sky.

I *THINK* the system counters if you asked for $10 but they could only approve $5k but in this case I rather get the $5k instant and then try for $20k because I KNOW they can counter at that point.

Well, I applied and decided to ask for a more modest amount $7,000 and got INSTANTLY approved....i Kina wished I asked for more but just in case i would get penalized for sounding too greedy went for $7,000 very happy though! Utilization will not be too high. Thanks everyone who responded!!!

CONGRATS!!!!

This is pretty much the only GE account out there that is exclusively HP for CLI, so don't get confused with the other GE cards because you will get a HP for a CLI request.

I dont know if you would consider this a CLI request or not, or a recon maybe, but I was approved online for $2500 and I called immediately and asked for 5000 and they countered at 3500. no additional HP.

Its different when you call back immediately after approval.

Cool cool. Not planning on asking for cli so that's good to know anyways. Care credit usually had decent interest promotions

I don't think this is true... Or maybe that's why I do CLI requests and it says "unable to approve but might be able to if we HP, do you want to conitnue!"

OP, Why wouldn't you call and ask for more? you got instant approval with your first ask... that means more is available!!!
