@efranklin23,
Good plan. Someone said if I close mine it won't effect my FICO score. I might go ahead and close it since its only and my last secured card. I'll be asking for a cli on my new USAA visa in July and hopefully they increase it to $13000 like they did on my USAA Amex. Also in March I'm hitting Amex up for a 3x cli and hopefully get to 18k. Who knew 2 years ago I would be here
Seeing that you have many unsecured cards (and at that an 7k USAA CC), I would cancel that card ASAP. and yea, it wouldn't effect your FICO by too much. It can still effect for UTIL purposes. But looking at your current CLs, that doesn't seem to be a problem at all.
@efranklin23,
LOL. I agree. It does look odd mixed in their with my other cards. That TJ MAXX might just have to go as well, but I'll probably keep that one as GE is good about CLI's. I started that one out with $400 and they increased to $1,000 after three months. It's good every now and then to use at TJ MAXX for clothes for the kids and at Marshalls for household items. I guess I just talked myself into keeping the card (TJ MAXX).
780, oldest account 22 years, AAoA 6yrs, no baddies, 1 inq., 90k/yr. Denied. they said I didn't have enough credit history. I brought up the facts, and they said "our decision is final." I kinda felt like I just got caught with their daughter. They refused to give me a review.
No BK.... nothing. Except my student loans are a bit high, but they said it was because of a lack of credt card history. IDK.. my oldest CC is 10 years old.

I think they're starting to tighten up the purse strings.
I had applied on the 24th and just called a few minutes ago to check on status. I was declined and the credit specialist said there was no reason showing and that I would received the decline reason by mail. She did say that she wasn't sure but she thought the reason was because I reside outside of the state of Oregon.
I don't know what else it could be except maybe too many recent inquiries.
- No BK on record (I did have one in 98), no late payments, no baddies at all
- TU FICO according to Barclays is 800, EQ FICO from 12/13 according to Cap1 was 792
- 2 TU inquiries from this month, 4 EQ (1 falls off on 2/5) and 3 EX
- AAoA 8yr 5mo (about to go down when my Amazon Visa starts posting)
- 2% util
- 2 new accts this month (only 1 is showing) 1AU account started posting this month as well
I'll update when I get the snail mail reason.
