Pre Approval Mailer For Credit One

I received a pre-approved mail offer today from Credit One and many pre-approved magazine offers (I get these daily, not interested). The offer is for 23.90 APR, Membership Fee of $75 for first year, $99 after (ouch) and a credit limit of up to $1500. Is Credit One similar to Verve or First Premier? My scores are all around 660-680. I'm pretty sure I am going to shred it but what kind of company is this?

Stay away from Credit One at all costs. Throw that offer in the trash can. I heard they aren't as bad as First Premier but that isn't saying much. Their card still sounds like complete junk. Even with good credit, I still get that stupid preapproval from them.

Tradelines: Macy’s - $18k, Penfed Power Cash Rewards - $10k, Ethan Allen (TD Bank) - $5.7k, Kay Jewelers - $5.5k, Appliances Connection - $5.3k, Jared - $5.25k, Best Buy (Citi) - $5k, Dell Preferred Account - $3.5k, Samsung - $3.2k, Firestone CFNA - $3.2k, Capital One Platinum - $3k, Mercury MC - $2.25k, Williams Sonoma - $2.1k, Wayfair (Fortiva) - $2k, Amazon Store Card - $1.8k, Apple Card - $1.7k, NFCU cashRewards - $1.5k, CareCredit - $1.5k, B&H Photo - $1.5k, Adorama - $1.25k, Ebay MC - $1k, Sam’s Club MC - $1k, American Eagle - $1k, Ollo MC - $600, Mission Lane Visa - $500, NY & Company - $500, Walgreens - $500, Home Depot - $500, Target RED Card - $500, CapOne Secured MC 0 AF - $500, Penfed Overdraft LOC - $500

Current FICOS: Mid 640s-50s on all reports, Ch 7 BK D/C Aug 2019
Starting scores: EX - 534, EQ - 574, TU - 516 | Total TLs: $91k approx | Total Utilization: 17%, getting this back down

Re: Pre Approval Mailer For Credit One

That's what i was thinking, too. Their mailer says to apply at yada yada website to find out your credit line instead of the usual a pre-approval isn't a guaranteed approval like most say. To the shredder it will go.

They arent as bad as FP or Verve, but that is crazy.....  When I was rebuilding I had a 35 AF version each year and 17.99 APR... So that offer is deffinetly no favor to you.  I also use to work there, and that is one of there WORSE offers..  I think with your scores, you can get some prime cards, vs. Credit one aka sub-prime.

Thanks for the input everyone! I will definitely shred it immediately. I was approved for the Chase Freedom back in July and I do not want to feel like I am going backwards!

I agree. Stay away from Credit One. If you need a tradeline, I suggest no hard pull secured cards like First Progress

Re: Pre Approval Mailer For Credit One

With what you have listed in your signature, you don't need/want Credit One or First Premier. Like others have posted, trash it.

Keep both your credit and your body in top shape!
