Re: Pre-Approvals other than the ones listed with Comenity Credit Cards

LL Bean does not offer pre-screened options. It is a straight app. Dillard's used to offer this option a while back but they no longer do. It will be HP if you apply.

From time to time Walmart offers a pre-screened option during the holidays, but it's a YEMV situation.

Re: Pre-Approvals other than the ones listed with Comenity Credit Cards

So does anyone know any other department store or anyone out there that offers pre-approvals online with a soft pull
I currently in the process of rebuilding my credit. Experian has me at 740 and I've had a WF $500 secured card for about 2 years. I just recently got Macy $300 - Walmart $200 - Bank of America $500 (secured) - Chase Freedom $1K - Kohls $300 - JCrew $300 - Barclaycard - 1K - Buckle $300 - Sears Mastercard $400 - BestBuy Mastercard $400 - Guess I am gardening since Dec 31, 2013 for at least 6 months. Im screwed up during the holidays and acquired 6 new credit cards. Its so difficult!

Are you saying it does not offer a pop-up saying you're pre-approved or that it will be a hard pull after offering the pop-up?

If it's the former, I can assure you that I went to their website and received a pop-up. It said I was pre-approved. It didn't give me credit limit, and I'm in the garden, so I declined. I never heard of LL Bean and only tested this out after I read a thread HERE

AFAIK, LL Bean only offers an invitation to apply at this time, not an actual pre-approval, like the few Comenity stores.

Dillard's was just rumor at best.  If anyone had to enter in a full SSN, that's an HP.  However, that store might be worth the HP, especially if you get the Amex version.

I got the, "Congrats you're pre-approved." It didn't state a limit and I clicked "No thanks".  I'm trying to get it to come back up again, but no dice. Most likely because my cards are reporting and scores are taking a beating.  Really wish I had screen cap'd it now.

The pop-up I got just now is an invitation to apply.  How long ago did you get the pre-approval?

Re: Pre-Approvals other than the ones listed with Comenity Credit Cards

Some people have also had a pre-approval with ShopNBC (I didn't).  That one might be a SP, but you'd have to confirm with someone who has that TL.

BML can come up as a pre-approval, but there is a HP to open their accounts and the subsequent CLIs are (supposed to be) SPs.

It's a shame other charge cards don't do the shopping cart trick with the pre-approval and a soft pull. The comenity list is cool but not a lot of stores that carry men items...

There is J.Crew and Express.  As for mail order, the Blair stores have men's clothing.  Haband has men's clothing too, but I don't really like much that's there.  There's several home furnishing stores on that list, too.

There are several men on this board (myself included) who have VS cards; I use mine at Bath & Body Works.  I even did a whole thread for the men of VS awhile back.

Correct.  However, purchases at BBW won't count toward points accumulated for VS.
