My Eq is 636 aaoa 1 year. 3 inq on EQ. Not sure which report is pulled. Highest CL Carecredit 4000. Lowest Discover 300. A few baddies but all older than 4 years. No lates
AMEX always pull EXP, but with that score range, baddies, and what appears to be a very limited CC profile if your highest line is not a real bank card (didn't even know Discover gave $300 CLs), I wouldn't app for a charge card. You may have a chance for a signature card, but that profile does not fit AMEX's style at all.
I have a BOA 1000.. The discover is through hsbc. I do not want the charge I want the delta sky miles amex
The Delta Gold/Platinum cards are charge cards (not signature cards). They allow you to rotate a monthly balance. The Amex Zinc/Green/Gold/Platinum are the signature cards you must pay in full each month. It is typically a lot easier to get approved for a signature card because you are less risk.
I'm not trying to knock your credit standing at all, but it doesn't appear you have many (if any) prime cards and/or decent credit limits. In addition, you have baddies on your report and low scores. Typically baddies on your report and low scores = denial from AMEX... they are a prime lender.
I would recommend you try to open a CC with a local (or national) CU. They will provide better interest rates, better limits, and be more flexible in approval.
Can you give more examples of prime cards?
Nevermind, I searched.
Biggest prime lenders are Chase, Amex, Discover, and most Citi products.
OP AMEX might pull all 3 for any product with a dirty report. I know they did on me a few years ago when I applied.
