I had a restaurant transaction using my Chase Sapphire Preferred on Friday, 7/5. Every single time, there's a pre-authorization and the pending charge shows on the website nearly instanteously, as it does with other cards. On Friday, nothing showed up at all (but I did pay, credit card got charged, got receipt, etc.) Has this happened to anybody with Chase? with anybody else?
In any case, the pending charge shows up on Saturday using 7/6 as the transaction date. And they apparently take away my First Friday triple points on restaurants because of that (statement just cut, didn't see those extra points).
I can understand transactions not posting right away but I don't get even the authorization showing up delayed with inaccurate date. Not happy at missing those triple points. Is this worth a call to them?
