+1 - was notified via email then a couple days later received another longer notification in the mail. My CL doesn't reflect a change online so I really don't even know what the supposed "upgrade" means other than having the word "signature" appear on the card. Anyone know what it really means?

It means Barclays will get more money from card swipe fees.
From your perspective, it means you get more benefits that you probably will never use, but which cost you nothing extra, so why not. The automatic warranty extension on some purchases is nice, and might come in handy someday. The credit line will probably report to the credit bureas as a NPSL card, which indicates a higher category card, so it might help a bit on your credit mix (but probably not significantly).
Only half of my cards are NPSL, so I still have a ways to go. Yay benefits I never hope to need!...

Thanks for the reply - my CSP and a couple others report that way - I did just learn of the two for one movie tix on friday nights via fandango for Visa Signature cardholders - laugh - that is actually one perk I may use. Ahhh, simple pleasures.
Congrats! ... hope one day Chase will do this to my Freedom card as well
