Prime card that I should apply for

Once my scores reach 660 on my experian. Which cards should I apply for? I was looking to upgrade my Macy's to the Amex. Which of the Amex cards can you get with a 660 experian?

I would wait until your scores are higher imo. You might be able to get them but if you wait until your scores are around 700 you'll have a lot better chance. should only be a few months

You can try for the Delta Gold AMEX, that seems to be popular as a mid-high-600's first AMEX, no AF the first year. The Every Day or the Blue Cash Everyday are also possibilities.

Good luck!

Why go for it? If he isn't planning on using Delta why bother? Wait a few months for your scores to go up and then a much easier chance at getting cards he really wants

Re: Prime card that I should apply for

ya dont get the delta unless u need the 30-60k miles.

At 670 I was able to get the ED. Apply for the ED first.

why dont you apply for the PRG charge card and get 50k bonus and $200 in airline gift cards after 333 spend a month for 3 months...

So apply for ED first, then PRG second, but make sure you google around in private browser for 50k offer. That way you will have 60k points after 2k spend in 90 days. Worth up to 1200 in travel on average.... a 2 for 1 punch on experian..... 2 cards, 1 pull. and worst case scenario they deny you for ED you can still get PRG i guarantee it.

The question was "Which AMEX can I get with a 660?" I don't think I detected any preferences or plans in that question. The Detla is accessible for someone in that score range and the 35k miles are an easy bonus, along with the no AF first year.

Well, there's the MR points, the charge card flexibility that certain spend types do well with, the links to certain travel partners that can be unique to AMEX, the AMEX Offers for specific spend items, more of their cards are getting no FTF, the types of cash back or points earning appeal to certain spend profiles....

Kind of like asking why do you need any credit card, right? Smiley Happy

Re: Prime card that I should apply for

Not to be a hater but I don't think most peoples spend profile lends them to benefits significantly from an Amex, most of which have AF's that push spend requirements pretty high.

Re: Prime card that I should apply for

NRV525 - no. it's nothing like asking why someone needs a credit card. if someone "needs" a credit card then they're setting themselves up for failure. credit cards should be our financial tools to make money or save money, that's it.

also, you just told me FEATURES of the amex, but not one benefit that applies to the OP. MR points aren't for everyone, and that includes me. my amex ED was a mistake. completely useless to me.

so, back to the question: OP, why do you need an amex?
