It really depends on usage. Mine went up slowly at first then quickly more recently, while my wife's had the opposite experience.
Mine went $500 --> $1000 --> $1500 --> $3000 --> $9,000 --> $16,000
Hers was more like $1000 --> $2,500 --> $4,500 --> $5,000 --> $6,000
The biggest difference was that about a year and a half ago I started travelling for work and would put $1800 - $2200 through it for expenses every other week. I think my year-end statement last year said I put over $30k in spend through the card, which is why they increased the CL so dramatically the last couple of times.
So spend, pay down, and be patient. You will be rewarded with higher CLs.
