I'm gonna be moving in the next 3-4 weeks and was curious how this affects new credit card apps. I'm gonna be in the same city etc etc but just moving to a new place.
Reason I ask is because there were a few cards that I'd like to add soon and a few of them were from companies that I don't have a credit card with yet. (Chase,Discover)
I just wasn't sure if I should apply for them before I move or it will be fine to apply once i get moved in at my new place.
It may be a silly question but I just wanted to ask just in case some CC's were funny about that.
I would hold off and wait until you move in your new place. Allow that new address to report to the CB's and then app. However, if you get approved now, you should have the cards before you have moved. Then all you would do is call and update your new mailing information.
It just depends on how you would want to handle your new apps, waiting or apping now. If it was me I would app now to avoid the mix up of addresses and verification issues.

Right.
If it were me OP, and provided your profile supports it, I would try applying sooner than later to avoid any delay with the review/approval process due to an address variation.
Like everyone has mentioned here...I would do it now. I made the mistake of applying during a move and sure enough it triggered fraud and got that lovely call from CapOne for verification. And if you don't know, CapOne is already slow to mail your card...this made a slow process even slower as fraud didn't actually call until some 4 days later. All the while I thought I was good to go and my card was in the process of coming to me when it really wasn't moving through the process at all.
Thanks for the info everyone!
